2種の豚肉の巻き焼き、豆腐とサラダ、キャベツと人参のスープ(Two Kinds of Grilled Rolled Pork, Tofu with Salad, and Cabbage and Carrot Soup)

今夜は特売日に買った豚肉を使って巻き焼きを2種類作りました。1種類目は梅肉と大葉と一緒に人参とえのきを巻き、サラダ油で焼き上げました。もう1種はキムチと一緒にアスパラとラー油で和えた千切キャベツを巻き、胡麻油で焼いてみました!嫁さんは豚肉が苦手なのでできるだけ臭みを抑えようと梅肉とキムチを使いましたが、美味しく頂けました。

お豆腐は普通に冷奴にしても良かったのですが、胡麻油で和えたサラダと一緒に添え、ポン酢ジュレで頂きました。スープは簡単な鶏ガラベースのもので、豚肉の巻き焼きに使った人参とキャベツの残りを入れました!

I had some shaved pork in the freezer so I decided to make some rolled pork tonight. It's a simple and popular dish here in Japan, but I don't think pork are sold in thin slices very often (especially in North America), so I don't know how easy this dish would be for those who live abroad. What I used to do was to freeze the meat and then shave them while it's still hard when I lived in Canada. 

Anyway, all you have to do is to place your choice of veggies on pork slices, roll them, and then grill them on a pan. Tonight I made a couple with green perilla leaves, pickled Japanese plums, finely sliced carrots and enoki mushroom. I also made another kind with kimchi, asparagus and thinly sliced cabbage. I grilled the former with some vegetable oil, and the latter with some sesame oil. Very simple, but tasty! You should sprinkle some salt and pepper on the pork before rolling them though. 

To go with them, I served some tofu with tossed salad. Just add chopped veggies in a bowl, sprinkle some salt, pepper, and sesame oil. Leave it for 10 minutes or so and get rid of the excess water. Again, real easy!

I had some cabbage and carrot slices that I couldn't use for the rolled pork dish, so I made a simple soup with them.
