The pizza we had the other night finished our stock of tomato sauce, so I made some more today. I consider it to be a fun thing to do on a weekend. I think there are many different ways of making tomato sauce, but below is the recipe I have been sticking to. Heat finely chopped garlic in the olive oil until on low heat until you begin to smell the garlic, and then cook finely chopped onion in it. Then add canned whole tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, and salt. Cook until it becomes thick like sauce, and leave it to cool. I then throw the sauce into the ziplock bag and store it in the freezer. I got this recipe from a book called "Happy Life Style 2" by Ishii Yoshie. I think she has the recipe online too, so I have attached an URL below for copyright purposes (only in Japanese though... sorry).

材料 Ingredients
(Olive Oil)50cc
I put an extra dollar for seasonings and condiments that I didn't calculate above.
Today will most likely go over $10, but the sauce lasts a while so I guess it's ok.
