We went to a Japanese summer festival in Tsukuba City yesterday. We spent a bit of time getting ready in our Yukata (Kimono-like traditional summer ware) and headed down around 5pm. We watch the Nebuta parade, shopped around for munchies, and walked around to see all other attractions. I guess we were a little late to see various stage events (dances and music performances, comedy skit and the usual), but we got there just in time for the bit parade. By the time we got around to searching for some munchies, some of the food stalls were beginning to close up, but we did get some nice herb sausages, tantoori chicken, and noodles. We bought some extra to take home too! Overall, it was a lot of fun. Great weather, but not too hot either. Above all, we got to wear our Yukata for the first time and the last time this year!
